Building Forum

Organizer: Messe Frankfurt in cooperation with the Association of German Engineers (VDI), the Training Initiative of the Network Industry (BdNI) and the  Federal Association of the Heating, Air Conditioning, Sanitation Technology and Building Services Systems Industry (BHKS)
Dates: 16-20 April 2012
Location: Hall 11.0, Foyer North

The Building  Forum is held as part of the Building Performance Congress; the programme has been arranged by the participating organisations as follows:

Monday, 16 April 2012 and Thursday, 19 April 2012
Federal Association of the Heating, Air Conditioning, Sanitation Technology and Building Services Systems Industry (Bundesindustrieverband Heizungs-, Klima-, Sanitärtechnik/Technische Gebäudesysteme – BHKS)Energieeffizienter Gebäudebetrieb – die zentrale Rolle der Automationssysteme

The Association of German Engineers (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure e.V. – VDI)

Hot from the press at the Light+Building show, we shall be presenting the new VDI guidelines on topics relating to automation in rooms and buildings, lift technology, barrier-free living spaces and decentralised energy systems for buildings. The speakers are all members of the relevant guidelines committee in each case and will be able to give background information on the work leading up to the publication of the guidelines.

You will be able to get an introduction to the following guidelines:
VDI 3813 "Automation of rooms"
VDI 3814 "Automation of building services"
VDI 4705 "Lifts – emergency management"
VDI 6008 "Barrier-free buildings"
VDI 6010/2 "Security installations"
VDI 6011 "Optimisation of use of daylight and artificial lighting"
VDI 6012 "Decentralised and regenerative energy systems in buildings"

The Training Initiative of the Network Industry  (Bildungsinitiative der Netzwerkindustrie - BdNI)

Energy-efficient IT & infrastructure

Energy efficiency continues to be a crucial factor across the IT industry, for all trades and professions involved in computing centres and in industrial contexts. Almost without exception, those responsible for IT these days have a duty not only to ensure trouble-free operation of the system, but also to guarantee the minimum energy consumption possible, for both ecological and, more importantly perhaps, economic reasons.

The lectures on the topic of "Energy-efficient IT & Infrastructure" address all aspects of the extensive range of issues. From cooling and power supply in the IT centre and in industrial environments to the cabling systems of the future. In their independent contributions, which are free of any marketing considerations and product-neutral, the eminent speakers will consistently concentrate on practical applicability.

Attendance at all lectures held within the framework of the Building Forum is already included in the admission charge for Light+Building and there is no need to register.
All lectures will be held exclusively in German.
The lectures are recognised for the purposes of advanced training credits by the Chamber of Architects and Town Planners in the State of Hesse (Architekten- und Stadtplanerkammer Hessen - AKH). One professional development credit is awarded for each 45-minute session attended.
