Improvement and development of innovative and individualised technical solutions remains the driving force in lighting design. Yet the demands for aesthetic appeal and beauty cannot be ignored.
Home comforts and aesthetic refinement can both be clearly seen in the designs. And indeed, irrespective of the particular style we are talking about. Even with minimalistic conceptions, it is relatively rare to find reduction to mere functionality alone.
And there is also an emphasis on the tried and tested: new designs echo traditional models and old favourites are brought up to the latest technical standards.
Durability meets future-proof technology and a serious engagement with materials and sustainability meets affective designs. An inspiring mix of old and new.
‘progressive & decorative’ – futuristic, decorative, glitzy
The ‘progressive & decorative‘ scenario creates surprise by juxtaposing progressive product development and decorative aesthetics. The style combines futuristic and decoratively glitzy elements with craftsmanship and new technologies.
‘liberal & manifold’ – multifaceted, unconventional, original
‘liberal & manifold‘ combines multifarious, original ideas in an open and unconstrained way. This multifaceted, young style rejuvenates the world we know, refreshes retro features and, in so doing, creates something new.
‘ingenious & significant’ – functional, clear, calm
This style impresses us with clever and minimalistic solutions producing standout lighting effects. Architectural purism combines with innovative concepts, aesthetic perfection and new design to create a lighting effect that blows us away.
‘pristine & desirable’ – beautifully crafted, poetical, authentic
Inspiration comes from nature and the botanical world for this style to create poetical and emotionally desirable designs. It is infused with allusions of nature: in organic forms, in the spectrum of natural colours and the world of bud, leaf and plat motifs.
The Light + Building Trend Forum showcases the 2016 / 2017 trends for the home and is aimed at the specialist wholesale and retail trade, at designers, architects and interior architects. The Trend Forum visualises various home scenarios and displays selected products, integrated into some unusual domestic design contexts. At the centre of focus is, in each case, one of four main stylistic trends that are picked up in the various scenarios for home interiors.
The lectures and subsequent guided tours of the Trend Forum given by the Trend Bureau, who identified the trends and have staged the Trend Forum, offer you an opportunity to form your own impressions and to go into greater detail with some useful additional information.
