In view of the world-wide situation caused by the Corona pandemic, and the prohibitions on events and travel restrictions associated with it, Messe Frankfurt has decided, jointly with its partners – ZVEI and ZVEH – and with the Trade Fair Advisory Council, to defer the eleventh Light + Building and to hold it, in accordance with its normal sequence, from 13 to 18 March 2022.
We would like to apologise for the situation caused by the corona pandemic. Currently, we are doing everything possible to reduce the impact on the lighting and building-services sector.
In the following, we have compiled a list of answers to frequently asked questions:
The next Light + Building will be held in line with the cycle of events from 13 to 18 March 2022.
The event postponed until 27 September to 2 October 2020 has been cancelled.
Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH will refund the stand rental paid for the planned Light + Building 2020 or cancel any unpaid receivables from the stand-rental contract. We have already sent information about this to our exhibitors by email. Naturally, you can address any detailed questions to your personal contact person at Messe Frankfurt.
You have the option of leaving the money in our account for your participation in Light + Building 2022. If you prefer a refund, however, please let us know and include details of your bank account.
Please note that a refund of the stand rental can take up to four weeks from the time we receive your bank-account details.
Booking for Light + Building 2022 is expected to begin at the end of October 2020. Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH will contact exhibitors directly in this connection.
If you have booked stand-construction services for Light + Building from Messe Frankfurt Fairconstruction, we will not demand payment and refund the amount if applicable. Voucher codes are invalid and no charge will be made for any voucher codes issued.
No costs have been incurred for venue services, e.g., electricity, water, rigging, etc. Any services ordered will be cancelled free of charge.

If you planned to visit Light + Building and have questions about your travel booking, please contact your travel partner, e.g., Deutsche Bahn AG, Deutsche Lufthansa AG or other travel agent. Please see the cancellation conditions, which were given to you by your travel partner, for all information required in this connection. The same applies to reservations or bookings for hotels, etc.
Messe Frankfurt is in close contact with Frankfurt’s hotel operators. They assure us that they are trying to offer the best possible service in this difficult situation and adopting an extremely fair policy towards booking changes in the interests of long-term guest satisfaction. Nevertheless, the legal principles of the accommodation contracts and the corresponding cancellation provisions for room reservations continue to apply. Accordingly, you should contact the hotel concerned if you have any questions in this respect.
