In addition to Messe Frankfurt as organisers and its two close cooperation partners – the Central Association of the German Electrical and Electronic Engineering Industry (ZVEI) and the Central Association of German Electricians (ZVEH) – the Exhibitor Advisory Council of Light + Building includes several other important trade associations: the German Electrical Wholesale Association, the Technology Trade Association (BVT), the Electrical and Information Technology Association, Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate, the Federal Building Services Association, the Association of Consulting Engineers, the German Architects’ Association (BDA) and the Hessian Chamber of Architects and Urban Planners.

“The special qualities of a vibrant cooperation are frequently invisible until a crisis occurs, i.e., when things run neither to plan nor as hoped. The Central Association of the German Electrical and Electronic Engineering Industry is highly appreciative of the fact that Messe
Frankfurt takes the advice of its partners, especially when it comes to really important decisions”, said ZVEI President Michael Ziesemer summing up the opinion of the entire Light + Building Advisory Council.
“The sector depends on being able to present new products and engage in an intensive exchange of information at the fair”, said ZVEH President Lothar Hellmann emphasising the significance of the trade fair. “There was no doubt that the new dates must be in the same year and we are very pleased that, following an intensive exchange of information and opinions with the sector, it was possible to take a joint decision. Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre is almost permanently booked up, which means it is no easy matter to postpone an event of the size of Light + Building”, added Lothar Hellmann.
On 24 February, following discussions with the two cooperation partners, ZVEI and ZVEH, Messe Frankfurt decided to postpone Light + Building until 27 September to 2 October 2020. The reason for this was the unexpectedly rapid spread of the coronavirus in Europe.
