HISTORY OF THE YLD LIGHTING BRAND
With a experience spanning over two decades in the design, development, and manufacturing of technical and decorative lighting fixtures for renowned global brands, our journey in the field of lighting has been an exciting and achievement-filled odyssey. In the year 2015, we embarked on an exciting and innovative project: the creation and implementation of our own brand, YLD.
The year 2016 marked a crucial milestone with the commencement of YLD Spain's operations, solidifying its position as the European headquarters in Madrid, as part of our ambitious internationalization project. Our initial strategic objective was to penetrate the Spanish market, accompanied by a meticulous selection of products tailored to the taste and needs of the European consumer. The official launch of the brand took place in October of that same year during the Matelec fair in Madrid, an event that served as a platform to showcase our innovations and consolidate our presence in the market.
The process of brand implementation and promotion continued with strength in 2017, actively participating in key fairs such as Construmat in Barcelona and Hábitat in Valencia, in addition to closing strategic distribution and manufacturing agreements in Spain and Italy. These agreements were crucial in establishing a solid foundation for our future growth and strengthening our relationships with key partners in the lighting industry.
The year 2018 marked a significant advancement in our European expansion with the opening of YLD branches in several key countries. We established a presence in Portugal with Lampicris Iluminaçao and in the Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia) with UAB Ekoliumenas. Additionally, we took a major step in Eastern Europe by establishing a branch in Bulgaria with Prisma Lighting. The Matelec fair in Madrid in 2018 provided the perfect stage to unveil not only a new range of technical and decorative lighting but also to reveal our refreshed brand image, symbolizing our continued dedication to quality and innovation.
The following year, in 2019, began with YLD's presence and presentation at the Lighting Days fair in Lyon, marking our entry and consolidation in the French market. This year also witnessed a strategic agreement for YLD's expansion in France in collaboration with the prominent company MW Marvalway. In the spring of 2019, we took a bold leap into South America by signing a distribution agreement in Argentina and Chile for our range of rings and lamps, thus inaugurating a new chapter in South America.
Our goal of establishing a European presence continues to progress confidently, with plans to open YLD branches in all European Union countries in the coming years. With the launch of the YLD 2020 catalog, we continue to evolve our range of decorative and technical lighting products, and in 2023, we have expanded it with the addition of new families. This catalog not only reflects our commitment to innovation but also our firm resolution to daily maintain and improve our research and development, production, and distribution processes.
