EVO - the new series of IP68 gel insulated joints and connecting devices

EVO® is the new range of gel-insulated joints and connecting devices, which allows making straight and branch connections with IP68 Degree of protection on the widespread cable types in electrical wiring, with cross-sections up to 5 × 16 mm2 (straight) and up to 3 × 4 mm2 (branch).
IP68 Total protection
The brand new and patented flexible cable housing seats adapt to the different cable diameters for which each device is designed and, combined with the gel insulating features, made it possible to certify the IP68 degree of protection (according to the EN 60529 Standard), that is to say maximum protection against water and dust without the use of cable glands or additional components to pre-thread on cables.
EVO® range include connecting devices specifically designed for civil/residential installations,
including LED lighting systems, and are optimized for the relevant cable types, for both straight (EVO PX and EVO 01, for two- and three-core cables up to 2,5 mm2) and branch connections (EVO 1D, for three-core cables up to 2,5 mm2).
EVO® devices are also suited for connecting, insulating and protecting small cross-section cables, also in presence of water, in many applications, like:
▪ LED lighting systems
▪ road and carriageway signs
▪ gardens, fountains, ground lighting of passages
▪ residential and ambient indoor lighting
▪ video surveillance systems
▪ industrial and domestic automation (barriers, gates)
▪ telephone and telecommunications systems
▪ loose cables on false ceilings or outdoor, in place of junction boxes
Zero Capillarity, no condensation: the pre-filled gel retains its insulation and protection features over time. It also prevents moisture from rising through the cables due to capillary action and the formation of condensation inside the equipment, which is a frequent failure cause, especially of LED lighting appliances.
EVO PX: The smallest connecting device in the range. Conceived and designed for smallsection
cables and for tight installation spaces. Only 68 mm long and 24 mm large, as small as a pixel!
EVO range also present a brand new sloped and curved brekable walls shape that allows an even faster and error-free installation.
New spring-clamp terminal blocks: tried-and-tested screw-type terminal blocks are joined,
on most used models, by new 2-, 3- or 5-poles spring-clamp terminal blocks.
The pushbutton plate supplied with EVO 02 allows to easily push simultaneously all three spring actuating buttons, allowing to insert all three cable wires at the same time.
The 5-pole spring terminal block supplied with EVO 04, for cables up to 6 mm2, is equipped with a patented new button lock/unlock system, which allows to easily connect all five cable wires at the same time. Spring-clamp technology doesn't require tools, thus making installation even simpler and quicker, and avoiding possible errors caused, with screw-type clamping units, by the application of an incorrect torque.
