ENEC PLUS - The European quality mark that ensures the performance of LEDs and Luminaires
ENEC Plus 03 is the first  European mark capable of verifying the performance of  LED  modules and luminaries. 
A  guarantee for the market, given by an independent third party, about the compliance to appropriate standards and the full reliability of the performance characteristics.
ENEC Plus mark has been developed by ETICS, in cooperation with LightingEurope (the association representing leading European lighting manufacturers and national lighting associations), on the basis of the well-known ENEC Mark.

ENEC is the high-quality European mark for the lighting sector that demonstrates compliance with European standards (EN), mainly related to safety.
The ENEC mark is complementary to the mandatory CE marking on the electrical products placed on the European market.
Being granted by a 3rd party, independent from the manufacturer or importer, the ENEC mark always signifies that the product is safe in accordance with the appropriate European directives.
European Certification Bodies in the electrical sector have opened the ENEC European Safety Mark to all electrical product sectors. Tests are carried out in approved independent test laboratories (ENEC TLs) located worldwide or, under certain conditions, in approved manufacturers’ laboratories.

In the Photometric Laboratory, tests are performed to evaluate photometric and colorimetric characteristics of luminaires and luminous sources.
The laboratory is equipped with:

• a Type C mirror goniophotometer for the characterization of the luminous intensity distribution and luminous flux of luminaires and luminous sources with dimensions up to 1200 mm.
• a Type C mirror goniospectroradiometer for the radiometric and colorimetric characterization of luminaires and luminous sources in the wavelength range from 380 nm to 780 nm.
• a spectroradiometric sphere of 1800 mm diameter, for the evaluation of radiant and luminous flux and colorimetric coordinates of luminous sources in the wavelength range from 350 nm to 800 nm.

In the IMQ Optical Radiation Laboratory, tests are performed to evaluate the photobiological safety of sources that emit optical radiation in the range 200 nm to 3000 nm, covering, therefore, UV, Visible, and IR radiation.
The Optical Radiation Laboratory is equipped with a double monochromator and specific input optics.

Six anechoic chambers, fully insulated from all external factors, to ensure that communications between all devices, from the smallest to the largest, cannot be disturbed by any electromagnetic interference.
Last October, IMQ has inaugurated one of the largest semi-anechoic chambers in the EU, with the following dimensions and testing capacity:

• Measuring distance: 10 metres.
• Dimensions: 20.5 m (L) x 10.6 m (W) x 8.3 m (H).
• Sliding door of 3x3.5 metres and tilting platform to allow access to any type of product, from the smallest to the largest, from the technologically simplest to the most complex.
• Test capability with radiated emissions in the frequency range 150 kHz - 40 GHz, radiated immunity tests in the range 20 MHz - 18 GHz.
• Rotary table: diameter 5 metres; capacity 6 tons.

As a notified body for the EMC directive, IMQ can assist companies with all activities required by the directive.
The directive concerns electrical and electronic appliances that can cause electromagnetic disturbances or that can be affected by disturbances generated by other sources. It is also applicable to plants and installations comprising electrical and/or electronic apparatus and components (even installed onboard machines).
Under the directive, CE marking is mandatory.
IMQ is authorized to operate for all products covered by the Directive 2014/53/EU.
The directive applies to radio receivers and/or transmitters that can communicate by the emission and/or reception of radio waves using a radiofrequency spectrum and/or terminal telecommunication equipment.
