IMQ EMC LABORATORY
Six anechoic chambers, fully insulated from all external factors, to ensure that communications between all devices, from the smallest to the largest, cannot be disturbed by any electromagnetic interference.
Last October, IMQ has inaugurated one of the largest semi-anechoic chambers in the EU, with the following dimensions and testing capacity:
- Measuring distance: 10 metres.
- Dimensions: 20.5 m (L) x 10.6 m (W) x 8.3 m (H).
- Sliding door of 3x3.5 metres and tilting platform to allow access to any type of product, from the smallest to the largest, from the technologically simplest to the most complex.
- Test capability with radiated emissions in the frequency range 150 kHz - 40 GHz, radiated immunity tests in the range 20 MHz - 18 GHz.
- Rotary table: diameter 5 metres; capacity 6 tons.
As a notified body for the EMC directive, IMQ can assist companies with all activities required by the directive.
The directive concerns electrical and electronic appliances that can cause electromagnetic disturbances or that can be affected by disturbances generated by other sources. It is also applicable to plants and installations comprising electrical and/or electronic apparatus and components (even installed onboard machines).
Under the directive, CE marking is mandatory.
IMQ is authorized to operate for all products covered by the Directive 2014/53/EU.
The directive applies to radio receivers and/or transmitters that can communicate by the emission and/or reception of radio waves using a radiofrequency spectrum and/or terminal telecommunication equipment.
