During the design phase of a building project attention must be paid to the safety of the human element and to that of property. In case of a fire accident, toxic gases are released from plastics containing halogens. The chlorine and fluorine released from halogenated plastics produce hydrochloric acid and gases which are dangerous and very harmful to people and the environment. It’s noteworthy that 60% of fatalities in case of fire are caused by toxic gases and dense smoke emitted. Thus, great care and responsibility is required when specifying the appropriate electrical materials to use in the electrical installations.

KOUVIDIS has designed two integrated, halogen free and low smoke, conduit systems, named CONDUR HF – CONFLEX HF (1250Nt). KOUVIDIS has more than 16 years manufacturing experience in the production of halogen free materials and is one of the precious few manufacturers in Europe that offers it in heavy type version.

Their raw material is based on Polycarbonate (PC), a virtually unbreakable material that ensures extraordinary mechanical resistance to compression and impact at extreme temperatures of -45oC.
