FiberXpert OTDR 5000 has been specially developed for installers and operators of enterprise networks and is optimized for surveying and documenting fiber optic networks and for troubleshooting. For both multimode and singlemode fibers, FiberXpert OTDR 5000 offers very high resolution with one of the smallest dead zones, enabling standard-compliant surveying even of short transmission distances. Automatic analysis functions simplify handling and make you an expert in fiber optics. With an event dead zone of less than 80 cm, the FiberXpert is able to resolve and measure with high accuracy even short consecutive connectors. A short measurement time with high resolution makes the measurement of fiber optic links very efficient. This saves costs and resources.

Easy operation and analysis
The instrument can be operated hands-free thanks to the special shoulder bag. This facilitates handling when the user wants to measure fiber optic links at different locations without having to set up and dismantle the measuring tool. The results are displayed graphically on the 5" touch screen and can be easily analyzed and saved accordingly. Automatic event detection is available, where all events of the fiber link are automatically displayed and evaluated for good/bad.

Smart Link Mapper
With the help of the symbol-based result display, a quick and easy assessment of the measured optical fiber is possible. The individual events on the link are marked with simple, logical symbols and can be selected individually to display detailed measurement values for each event. It is possible to switch between trace and SLM views at any time. Both SLM and trace display are included with each instrument.

Advanced measurement functions
Additional measurement functions, such as attenuation measurement and optical power level meters, allow accurate determination of path attenuation and measurement of output power from active components such as switches. The optional fiber optic microscope also allows you to document the quality of the connector surface after installation. This is particularly useful in the event of a warranty or fault.
