About the BIG-EU
Networking the BACnet Standard in Europe
The BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) promotes the application of the world's leading BACnet communication standard ISO 16484-5 in building automation and safety engineering in Europe. It was founded in 1998 by 18 building automation companies and today has over 120 members from all regions of Europe as well as Australia and North America. The objectives of BIG-EU are to represent European interests in the further development and application of the BACnet standard – especially with regard to energy efficiency and the reduction of the CO2 footprint in the building sector. This is done in close exchange of information with the ASHRAE committee "SSPC 135" responsible for BACnet as well as with the worldwide BACnet community.
