Pugalia Woollen Mills P. Ltd. since last three generations have been in Wool Felt industry and today is the second largest felt manufacturing company in the Indian Subcontinent. It has always believed in the quality as the hallmark of its rapid growth. It is one of the few felting companies in the world which has invested in its own fully fledged laboratory to check various technical parameters of the final product.
Pugalia is engaged in manufacturing, supplying and exporting an extensive range of Felt sheets, rolls and Wheel, Buffing and Polishing Felt, Felt Seal, Felt Component, Wicking, Vibration and Polishing Felt, Handicraft Felt,Pressed Wool Felt.
Our company, being one of the first felt companies in India has been in business since 1990 and continues to produce various types of felt materials in all specifications.
Our company which has been maintaining its strong share of the domestic market as well exporting products on global scale has built trust based on the philosophy of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Currently we are supplying our wool felt to countries like Germany, Italy, USA, Poland, Belgium, Turkey, England, Korea and other 25 countries.
Our felt is a natural material made from wool.
Starting from a material as traditional as wool and a process as ancient as felting, we have developed technology to create products with unique qualities and enormous versatility.
We leverage the unique properties of wool and the characteristics of nonwoven fabrics to offer solutions for an endless variety of applications, from interior design to industry.
And we offer this functionality by using wool, which is a natural and renewable raw material. In addition, wool felt can be recycled and is also biodegradable, making it a product with a lower environmental impact.
Custom Felts
Product developments, treatments, finishes or presentations are words that we use on a daily basis in order to meet the needs of our customers. Made-to-measure felts allow us to adapt to the needs of our customers with a range that includes an infinite number of colours and variations in terms of:
- Density: this value determines the hardness and stiffness of the felt. We cover a range of soft items from 0.13g/cm3 to the hardest items up to 0.44g/cm3.
- Thickness: we cover a range that extends from 1mm to 27mm. The greater the hardness of the felt, the more limited the achievable thickness in production.
- Composition: we can manufacture 100% wool felts of various qualities (carbonized, washed) as well as blends of wool with other fibres.
Our technical felts can be used in various industrial sectors as thermal insulators, anti-vibration mounts, lubricating elements, filters, seals, gaskets, washers, etc. We can apply various types of finishing to give our felts special properties for specific applications: fireproof, waterproof, anti-mould, pilling, anti-static, anti-stain, anti-moth and anti-slip.
Even if we offer a wide range of standard products, we have great flexibility to make customized products for our customers.
Manufacturing Process/ Scope of Use/ Specifications:
Thanks to its natural fiber structure, wool felt has numerous technical specifications which are used in various fields of the industry. Wool felt can trap liquid, vapor and moisture, it makes excellent thermal insulator and provides sound insulation, has a high resistance to pressure and friction and can absorb vibrations and shocks.

Pressed Wool felt (Technical felt, Industrial felt, Felt Rolls, Woollen felts, Engineering felts)
Is manufactured by blending, pressing, milling and drying,
to produce a non-woven homogenous mat of fibre,
which can exhibit a wide variety of properties depending
on the final hardness, thickness and blend of wool
used in its make-up.

We manufacturer felt rolls in the density ranges from 0.16 gm/ccm to 0.45 gm/ccm.

Thickness
We manufacture Thickness from 2 mm to 30 mm in felt roll form.
Width
Width of the rolls varies respective to thickness and density.
2 mm to 6 mm – 160 cm to 180 cm
8 mm to 30 mm – 180 cm to 200 cm
Special width can be made on order.
Length
Length of the rolls varies from respective to thickness and density
2 mm to 12 mm: 10 – 15 meters
15 mm to 30 mm: 5 – 7 meters
Special length can be made on order.
