As well as keeping building owners and facilities managers up to speed on the status of multiple emergency lighting systems across multiple locations – via web and mobile apps – Eaton’s building safety management system cloud-stores evidence of periodic testing for compliance with regulations, so vital for both them and their insurers.

The mobile app takes emergency lighting control and interaction to new levels thanks to its intuitive, single-fingertip. All processes can be carried out in simple, logical steps that minimise the need-to-know complex technical procedures. Real-time push email and pop-up notifications via Eaton's own servers highlight issues the second they occur, enabling rapid and appropriate interventions to keep buildings open for business and their occupants safe. Remote reactive and preventive diagnosis not only saves time, money and environmental impact by enabling the fitting of spare parts in just one visit, it helps optimise human resources by identifying what skills level is needed to make the repair.

A project can have different requirements for emergency lighting. Eaton´s new FlexiTech EW, EC and SU range of luminaires offer a uniform design, have a robust construction and are available in different viewing distances, technologies and mounting options to help you fulfil all project requirements.

FlexiTech EW, single-sided Exit sign Wall mounted, delivers 12m, 20m or 30m viewing distances and comes with four non-adhesive inlay exit legends. Lightguide technology for homogenized illumination of the pictogram will make even more visible the exit sign for safer evacuation.

FlexiTech EC, single- or double-sided Exit sign Ceiling mounted, delivers 20m or 30m viewing distances.

FlexiTech SU (Safety light with Uniform illumination) delivers universal light distribution (420 lm) equally suitable for escape route and open area lighting for mounting heights up to 7.5 m. Its innovative precise micro lenses guide light efficiently along the escape route while thanks to the large light output area the glare is significantly reduced.

FlexiTech CC and CW are combined exit sign and safety light luminaires for ceiling and wall installation. The multi-LED source of the safety light function is equipped with a lens that focuses a maximum amount of light under the luminaire and distributes the remaining light on either side, for example to improve the illumination of safety equipment or staircases. In addition, users can add optional lenses to tailor the light distribution along escape routes to the building at hand.

All easy-to-install housings feature a transparent base plate with a large working space, as well as timesaving, hassle-free screwless terminals and a helpful, built-in spirit level for rapid alignment. A special thermoplastic elastomer derived from the automotive industry, combined with an innovative Eaton-designed and patented double membrane technology on side entries, offers dependable waterproofing on the IP66 housing. It also saves installation time and effort as no cable gland is needed.

We have more than 20 years of experience in ‘eco-design’ in this product area. Starting with the introduction of the first LED-based self-contained emergency lighting system into the market in 2000 and continuing the momentum to integrating ‘eco-design’ into all our emergency lighting product development in France from 2004.

Today all our emergency lighting systems have benefitted from a LCA (Lifecycle Assessment) and Eco-design, including the incorporation of LED light sources, reduced electrical consumption, and the use of optimized hardware amongst others.

After months of research looking at used products, we developed a refurbishing process for each of our luminaires and we will be launching the service to our French market in early 2024.

This circular offer consists of the collection of used self-contained emergency lighting luminaires, refurbishment of the item in our local workshop and return to the customer.

RoundTech luminaires make installing emergency lighting quick and easy with standard circular tools for any hole size from 64mm up to 78mm.

Opportunities to further harmonize design look and feel include an optional square trim plus a full spectrum of customized colorways.

Critically, its innovative, single solution eFocus capability makes RoundTech instantly configurable for both escape routes and anti-panic areas, simplifying ordering, warehousing and last-minute changes, as well as reducing errors.

The eFocus function allows you to select what illumination you need for the application. Both wide area anti-panic lighting and narrow focused illumination is possible from the same fitting. Simply select symmetric (antipanic) or asymmetric lighting (escape route) via the dip switch before installing.

In its exit sign version, RoundTech also offers a perfect homogeneity and uniformity of the pictogram illumination and a viewing distance of 20m.
