The Spectis 1.0 Touch light flicker meter is now equipped with additional electronics and fast photodiode to measure flicker frequency, flicker index and flicker ratio. Designed and developed in consultation with industry leaders and standards committees, this device provides all the measurement quantities required to accurately measure and understand flicker.

The Spectis 1.0 Touch Flicker meter delivers reliable and accurate optical performance, and intuitively operated spectral instrument for light measurement. Dependable light assessment is no longer restricted to only experts or external laboratories. GL Optic light spectrometers are designed and preconfigured for light measurement applications. The B class cosine corrected measurement head is a standard accessory allowing for precise measurement of light. Now, with the addition of a photodiode placed next to the standard diffusor with fast readout electronics, optical flicker signal response is captured at the same time. GL Opticam 3.0 4K TEC Imaging Luminance Measuring Device

Until recently, measuring luminance distribution in accordance with EN 13201: 2016 Road Lighting Standard has been a tedious, time-consuming and expensive process, requiring many people and specialist knowledge. GL Optic presents GL OPTICAM 3.0 4K TEC, a system that offers verification of luminance distribution under real and varying weather conditions. Measurements that were previously only possible in the laboratory can now be performed in the field.

World’s first solution for field luminance measurements

The GL OPTICAM 4K TEC system was developed in cooperation with the Poznań University of Technology and implemented under the Program of the National Center for Research and Development and is the world's first solution fully adapted to field measurements. The device was equipped with a thermal stabilization function of the matrix, which compensates for measurement errors resulting from changing temperature conditions. Its hermetic casing (IP 54) is designed field use and prepared for various weather conditions - even in the rain, without fear of damaging the camera. Additionally, it has a rechargeable power source, which relieves the operator of the need to use power generators and portable power supplies when working in the field. A set of included accessories, including measurement field markers and a measurement wheel, make it easy to mark the road area and carry out a complete measurement process.

Ready to work according to the plug and measure principle

The high-resolution, high-sensitivity camera is pre-configured for immediate measurement of luminance distribution in the field, for any application. The intuitive analytical software, GL Opticam SOFT, immediately presents the results, including the installation’s compliance or non-compliance with the assumptions and requirements of the road lighting standard. In addition, the software allows a report to be generated at the touch of a button, something not previously available in any system on the market.

Data accuracy and reliability guaranteed

Comparative tests have shown that the measurement accuracy of GL OPTICAM 3.0 4K TEC is equal to that of equipment from the world's leading manufacturers. And the repeatability of the measurements due to temperature stabilization as well as the refined set of accessories and intuitive software surpass all luminance measuring instruments available on the world market. The accuracy and reliability of the data is ensured by the 9-step calibration performed in GL Optic’s Calibration and Research Laboratory of Optical Radiation (CARLO), , which is the only facility in Central and Eastern Europe equipped with a Black Body Radiator, a primary standard source for implementation of spectral irradiance units . Such standards are only found in the leading National Institutes of Standards and Technology in the world, such as NIST, PTB or VNIIOFI. Once taken, the measurements and the data recorded from them can be analyzed at any time, even months or years after the physical measurements – even if standardization requirements change.

Excellent results in comparative tests

GL OPTICAM 3.0 4K TEC was used to measure one of the most important traffic sections in Poland, the A2 motorway, along the southern borders of the Poznań conurbation. The tests were carried out on the night of 16-17 June and were conducted by the Poznań University of Technology. For the tests it used its own recognized brand meter and the new GL Optic solution. The results obtained from both measurements overlapped additionally the tests confirmed that the lighting on this critical section of motorway meets the photometric assumptions and requirements in terms of quality and functional potential and complies with the PN-EN 13201 standard.

GL OPTICAM 3.0 4K TEC is a system designed in a very thoughtful way, using the extensive measurement experience and knowledge of the partners from the Department of Light Technology and Electrothermics of the Poznań University of Technology, with attention to detail that allowed to simplify and accelerate the measurement itself and the presentation of the results.
