The sleek Solarnative PowerMeter monitors the imported and exported power at the grid connection point to measure the household’s self-sufficiency. Is can also be used to measure the consumption of third-party components or large consumers.

The Solarnative PowerMeter can measure the power flow of three independent phases with up to 63 A and sends the measured data to the Solarnative IntelliGate via wireless LoRa WAN network.

With its miniaturized size it fits easily into the electrical cabinet.

The most frequent application is at the grid-connection point to measure the power drawn from and fed into the grid.

However, the Solarnative PowerMeter can also be used to integrate third-party devices, such as an EV charging station, into the Solarnative monitoring system. Another application is to measure consumption of large consumers like heat pumps or pools which thereby can also be integrated into the monitoring system. The Solarnative PowerMeter can be used to measure up to three independent single-phase consumers.

The Solarnative IntelliGate is the brain of the Solarnative Smart Energy Home. It communicates with the PowerStick micro-inverters using power-line communication and with all other system components using LoRa. It is connected to the Solarnative Cloud via LTE — no WiFi needed.

The brain of your PV system

The Solarnative IntelliGate is the control unit of your PV system and the entire Smart Energy Home. It receives information and performance data from all devices in the system and sends it to the Solarnative Cloud for processing and supervision. The data is fed into the Solarnative app to allow real-time monitoring of the PV system and all other devices, such as an EV charger or a battery system.

Each 1‑phase string of PowerStick micro-inverters is connected with a Solarnative IntelliGate. Several IntelliGates can be combined in a master-slave configuration to form a comprehensive PV system. Depending on the mounting orientation, at least 13 PowerSticks can be connected to each Solarnative IntelliGate in a self-limiting 20 A string. In East-West orientation, the number increases due to the lower amperage per module. Each IntelliGate comes with a Solarnative Termination Cap that is attached to the open connector of the last micro-inverter to close off the string.

No WiFi, no data cables

Thanks to its smart connectivity concept, the Solarnative PV system does not require WiFi connection or data cables. The Solarnative IntelliGate is connected with the PowerStick micro-inverters using power-line communication. All other devices in the system are controlled over an autonomous wireless LoRa WAN network that can easily reach into the basement or the garage to exchange data with every system component. Cloud connectivity is provided via LTE, so there is no need for WiFi connection on the roof.

Automatic device detection and mapping

During commissioning, the Solarnative IntelliGate enables a smart device detection functionality allwoing installers to perform a system check even before the PV system is connected to the grid. Thanks to an automatic mapping function, there is no need for scanning or collecting the bar codes of the individual micro-inverters.

The Solarnative IntelliGate Balcony monitors and controls your balcony PV system making sure your power plant complies with local regulations while allowing you to maximize your energy yield.

Maximize your energy yield

With our solution for small PV systems you can maximize your energy yield while respecting local regulations. Small PV systems are usually installed on your balcony or in your garden or any other small area that fits only a few PV panels. Normally, these small power plants come with one or two PV panels and a micro-inverter with 600 or 800W, depending on local regulations. In our system, the maximum feed-in power is not limited by the micro-inverter. Instead, the IntelliGate Balcony — our monitoring and control unit — regulates your feed-in power at all times. This means that you can install more than 600 or 800W to collect more energy in low-light conditions, like in the mornings and evenings and on cloudy days, while making sure that you’re complying with the rules in sunny hours.

Upgradable from 600 to 800W

Because the feed-in power of your small PV system is controlled by the IntelliGate Balcony, our system can be upgraded from the 600W limit that is currently valid in Germany to 800W as soon as regulations are changed. This is done by an over-the-air update sent to your IntelliGate Balcony using your home WiFi.

In countries with a 800W limit, such as Austria and Italy, the system is set to 800W from the start.

As a result, this extraordinary micro-inverter fits into open PV rails and even into the frame of the PV module! The Solarnative battery system is a smart and safe modular storage solution made up of various AC BatteryBricks. The system configuration is completely flexible with a storage capacity from 0.9 to 32.4 kWh for regular homes.

Based on our proprietary high-frequency technology, each battery cell in the Solarnative AC storage system is controlled individually by an integrated bidirectional inverter. With our unique single-cell technology, there is no danger of cell mismatches and overheating. Maximum self-sufficiency

The Solarnative AC battery system is grid-forming and provides a 3‑phase back-up functionality, allowing your Smart Energy Home to be operated as an independent off-grid system in the event of a blackout.

The Solarnative BatteryBrick will be available with 0.9 kWh or 1.8 kWh capacity. Various BatteryBricks can be combined in a 1‑phase or 3‑phase system with a storage capacity of up to 32.4 kWh in 3‑phase homes.

The battery system is controlled by a Battery Control Unit (BCU) via power-line communication. The BCU is integrated in the Smart Energy Home system via LoRa, enabling intelligent charging strategies to make optimal use of the building’s solar power output and increase self-sufficiency.

With its modular approach, our AC battery system features a superb charging / discharging efficiency over a wide power range. Even low base consumption of 100 W during the night is provided at maximum discharging efficiency. With its compact battery size and flexible configuration options, the system fits into every corner or alcove.
