How does it work?

Seaborough’s clinical trials show proven health benefits for users of SunLED incorporated into a simple desk lamp. While only a focused part of the body is exposed to the light, its inherent systemic effects benefit the entire body.

Invisible NIR light activates cells and leads to their repair and healing. The NIR light penetrates deep into our bodies, which means that its positive effects can be locally radiated yet transported by our blood through the entire body.

By pulsing our LEDs and using directed beams, we reach sufficient radiation intensities while keeping the energy consumption low. We carefully studied the optimal near-infrared dose to guarantee maximum health benefits in a cost-effective way. We achieve these benefits using very few light sources, optimizing your costs versus benefits ratio.

Independent clinical trials have proven the following health and well-being benefits:

• Systemic effect: The SunLED technology makes use of near-infrared light. Light in this wavelength regime penetrates deep into the skin, activating cells close to blood vessels. Consequently, positive effects are easily transported through the whole body.
• Lowers resting heart rate: Seaborough's clinical trials show a significant decrease in the resting heart rate of the participants exposed to SunLED. This was already visible after only one day of exposure!
• Boosts immune system: The human immune system is a complex network of biological processes where cells and molecules interact to fight viruses, bacteria, and inflammations. Seaborough’s clinical trials demonstrate that the blood of participants experiencing SunLED contained significantly increased concentrations of the immune parameter: TGF β. When harmful species are detected in our body, this molecule activates our white blood cells which help fight infections and other diseases. The clinical trials also demonstrate a significantly decreased concentration of the immune parameter: TNF α. This molecule is responsible for inducing inflammatory responses. High concentrations of this molecule are linked to auto-immune and obesity related diseases like diabetes type 2.
