From 91 submissions, an independent jury carefully selected the 13 most compelling entries. Key evaluation criteria included sustainability, innovative strength, and functional and design quality. The jury consisted of renowned industry experts: Prof. Amandus Samsøe Sattler (ensømble Studio Architektur, President DGNB e.V.), Andreas Habermehl (Managing Director of Technology and Vocational Training, ZVEH – Central Association of German electricians), Annika Egloff-Schoenen (Managing Director, Fachverlag Dr. H. Arnold GmbH), Ulrike Brandi (Managing Director, Ulrike Brandi Licht), Franziska von Schumann (Publisher and Member of the Executive Board, Stylepark AG), Robert Volhard (Founder, Publisher and Member of the Executive Board, Stylepark AG), and Anna Moldenhauer (Editor-in-Chief, Stylepark Magazine and Platform for Architecture and Design).
“Timely, diverse and exciting,” is how Ulrike Brandi describes the quality and range of the submissions. These ranged from technical luminaires and lighting components to smart building technology and innovative security solutions, thus reflecting the entire spectrum of topics covered by Light + Building. At the same time, the international nature of the entries underscores the global relevance of the award.
Amandus Samsøe Sattler is also looking forward to the upcoming trade fair: “What makes Light + Building special is that we meet the people behind their luminous products. Within just a few days, we gain a comprehensive overview of the entire product world – hands-on and ready to explore.”
