The Designplus Award by Light + Building honours outstanding design solutions in the fields of lighting, electrical engineering and home and building automation. The competition highlights products that combine innovation, functionality and sustainability.
Participation for exhibitors
All exhibitors at Light + Building 2026 are invited to apply for the Designplus Award by Light + Building with their innovative products or a sustainably designed exhibition stand.
The award offers the opportunity to present developments and ideas to an international audience of experts and to gain additional attention beyond the trade fair.
In collaboration with Stylepark, the platform and magazine for architecture and design, the award-winning products will be presented in two digital presentation formats. In addition, a festive award ceremony will take place at Light + Building, putting the spotlight on the award-winning solutions.

The focus is on energy-efficient systems, innovative solutions for renewable heat, advanced storage technologies, and approaches to circular economy and resource efficiency. - SMART & CONNECTED SOLUTIONS +
We are looking for products and systems that open up new opportunities for greater efficiency through IoT, artificial intelligence, BIM or intelligent networking. - LIGHTING DESIGN & ATMOSPHERE +
This category is all about luminaires and lighting systems, smart control technologies and tools for professional lighting design. - USER EXPERIENCE & INTEGRATION +
Awards will be given to projects that create innovative working and living environments, combine sustainability with design and put people at the centre. - YOUNG INNOVATORS +
All exhibitors in the Young Design Area are eligible to participate. - SUSTAINABLE EXHIBITION STAND +
The award recognises exhibitors who impress with a particularly sustainable stand concept.
Procedure and deadlines
The application period has already closed. The jury meeting will take place shortly, during which the nominated entries will first be selected, followed by the determination of the winners. The independent expert jury, consisting of industry specialists, will assess which products make a meaningful contribution to a future-oriented building sector.
