DKC has renewed its range of RamBatt Line voltage and frequency converters. It does so following a well-established tradition that sees versatility, efficiency and safety as the reasons for the success of its energy conversion systems. These strengths, which have become even more solid today, apply not only to specific products, but to the entire DKC catalogue. The catalogue is full of solutions 100% designed and developed in Italy and conceived to be easily integrated with each other. This means that there is now a truly coordinated offering for professionals in different sectors.
It is within this context that we find the updated family of frequency and voltage converters of the RamBatt Line, intended for all those companies that wish to make their products suitable for use in international contexts, without having to make design modifications to the electrical part of the equipment and rewrite the software that governs it. The primary application of the new converters of DKC's RamBatt Line is in laboratories where tests are performed, reproducing the most diverse scenarios and contexts where simulations need to provide energy with different powers and frequencies.
The new converters are available in two macro versions: single-phase and three-phase.
The first, single-phase UNIVAR, is designed to provide tools for adapting and testing equipment in different operating contexts, ensuring flexibility and efficiency. They are available with a power rating in the range of 3 kVA to 12 kVA, and can be supplied in a rack or tower configuration. They are powered with a 96 V single-phase supply voltage and deliver from 25 V to 270 V single-phase, with adjustable frequency from 45 to 400 Hz. They are ideal for integration with industrial machinery as they avoid the need for time-consuming adaptation to electrical networks with different voltages and frequencies, they are also excellent when used in test laboratories, environments where their limited size facilitates their housing and use.
The second, three-phase TRIVAR, consists of three different types of converters:
TRIVARTT: (from 8 kVA to 20 kVA, ideal for low-power applications, compact, easily transportable and offering great versatility with the ability to handle voltages from 45 V to 460 V and output frequencies of between 45 Hz and 400 Hz);
TRIVARXT: (from 15 kVA to 50 kVA, suitable for powering medium-sized machinery, delivering current from 40 A to 72 A and output frequencies from 45 Hz to 400 Hz);
TRIVARXTG: (from 30 kVA to 50 kVA, made of robust industrial metal carpentry and equipped with an internal transformer, they can supply all available power even at lower voltages).
Of particular importance is the fact that the new range of converters in DKC's RamBatt line offers advanced monitoring and remote management functions to ensure efficient and flexible control, with features and modes that vary depending on the model.
In the case of UNIVAR and TRIVARTT the remote control is via a DB15 port for the selection of the voltage (variable within the desired range via an external 0-10V signal) and the output frequency, as well as for switching the device on and off. It should be noted that the management of output parameters with software is via the RS232 port. With regards to TRIVARXT and TRIVARXTG, direct setting of output voltage and frequency values is possible using a variety of analogue-digital inputs, while advanced remote management options are enabled through a USB connection with proprietary protocol, thereby ensuring greater flexibility.
DKC's new range of RamBatt Line converters can be customised with a selection of optional accessories, available on request at the time of order, designed to meet specific operational requirements. These include wheels to facilitate handling, USB switches to allow remote connection of multiple devices, facilitated with access via a single control point, and transformers which can be integrated with all converters to adapt perfectly with different installation requirements. Lastly, DKC offers the opportunity to ‘tropicalise’ the converters, i.e. to supply them with electronic boards treated with a special lacquer that forms a protective surface layer, thereby ensuring correct operation even in environments with high humidity and/or high salt concentration in the air or in the presence of oils or ferrous shavings.
DKC, following a logic that requires prompt technical support as a prerequisite for ensuring maximum customer satisfaction, provides additional information for the ideal use of its RamBatt Line voltage and frequency converters. In order to establish their appropriate sizing and to ensure their safe and long-term use, DKC recommends an upstream analysis of the factors related to the load to be supplied. The elements which require careful attention include the motors (they can generate significant current peaks at start-up, which may require them to be equipped with a soft starter) and return currents (in cases where the motors of powered machines induce them during braking, these can cause the converter to suddenly switch off).
In terms of dedicated support for RamBatt Line converters, DKC provides its customers with the DKC Service department, dedicated to technical support and structured to guarantee service excellence and maximum satisfaction. DKC Service accompanies the Customer during commissioning operations with qualified personnel who take care of the configuration and start-up of the devices, ensuring that they are fully operational at the installation site and ensuring forms of preventive maintenance through periodic checks carried out on-site. These serve to monitor the condition of the equipment and replace parts subject to wear and tear, so as to prevent malfunctions and prolong their life.
