The Young Design area at Light + Building 2026 offers young designers the opportunity to present their lighting and lighting concepts free of charge at the world´s leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology. The joint area was already a stage for creative young talents in 2018, and now it is returning to promote the next generation in the field of design. In an inspiring atmosphere, new contacts can be made, networks expanded and valuable insights into the industry gained.

- Free presentation area of approx. 6 m² in the Young Design communal area.
- Equipment included: walls, carpet, furniture (presentation podium, stools, lockable storage box for personal items) and a triple socket.
- Signage on the rear wall with your name, the name of the luminaire and, if available, your website.
- General lighting of the area.
- Electrical connections for your luminaires.
- Support from electricians during the installation of your luminaire (if required).
- Wi-Fi access.
- Insurance for your luminaire for the entire duration of your stay at the exhibition grounds.
- Stand security on the last day of set-up and during the exhibition at night.
- Short presentation as a PDF on the Light + Building website in the Young Design section.
- Unlimited free visitor vouchers for your customers.
- Twelve free day passes (exhibitor passes) including use of public transport (RMV area).
- One car parking ticket for the duration of the trade fair (if required).
Requirements for your participation:
- You are under 35 years of age.
- You are at the beginning of your professional career.
- You have a maximum of five years of professional experience as a designer.
- Your product is presented as a single piece (a maximum of one product family is permitted).
- The product is your property and is not yet in series production.
Information:
- Travel & Accommodation: Travel to and from Frankfurt as well as accommodation during your stay, must be organized independently. Any costs incurred will not be covered by Messe Frankfurt.
- On-site Presence: You are expected to be personally available at the booth for visitors and interested parties throughout the entire duration of the event.
- Eligibility: Repeat participation in the Young Design program is not permitted.
- Setup and Dismantling: On Saturday, 7 March 2026, you will independently install your luminaire on site. If required, an electrician can be provided to support you. Dismantling will take place on Friday, 13 March 2026, starting at 5:00 p.m.
- Exhibition Priority: If you are presenting your product for the first time at Light + Building 2026, the legal advisors of Messe Frankfurt can issue you an exhibition priority certificate. This confirms the first public presentation between 8–13 March 2026 and can be submitted when registering a utility model, design patent, or trademark.

The number of stands available for Young Design is limited! If there are more applications than stands, the allocation of space will be decided based on the date of confirmation.
